Slammin’ 4 Door!

Chevy never built a four door truck in 1966, but owner Trent Beasley wanted one to haul his grandkids around in. So he welded two ‘66 Chevy trucks together, extending the frame twenty eight inches. It’s got Air Ride Suspension and is powered with a 370 horse LS-2 Vette engine. The rear bed is made of Black Cherry from a barn that’s 150 years old. The whole project took just ten months. He added Billet Specialty Wheels with Mickey Thompson rubber… the rears are a fat twenty by fifteen. The interior is wrapped in man-made leather and includes Vintage Air and a Dakota digital dash. Plus three video screens and an Xbox for the grandkids! And the whole package is painted in Harley Davidson Cobalt Blue and Silver… to match his motorcycle. See it only on The PowerBlock November 14th & 15th.

Li’l Red Express

According to Car & Driver Magazine the Li’l Red Express truck was the fastest production vehicle in 1978. Part of that can be attributed to the Mopar 360 under the hood. Courtney found a 1979 truck which has all the same specs except it has a catalytic convertor. Owner Richard Price’s gem has only 1,744 miles on it! The tires, spark plugs and hoses are all original. The only thing he has changed is the oil, filters, battery and coolant. Dodge only made these trucks for two years with limited production numbers:
1978: (2,188) and 1979: (5,118). See it on The PowerBlock November 7th & 8th! For more info -  LilRedDad.com

Sexy Chevelle!

Check out this ‘69 Chevelle SS; it’s owner Thomas Walker’s first car he purchased in 1977. He did a rotisserie restoration in 2007 and powdercoated the frame, smoothed all the welds in the firewall and painted it Auora Blue. It’s powered by a 454 big block. The engine bay is so clean you could eat off it! Plus Ian Johnson has a tech tip on how to break in new brakes. See it all on The PowerBlock October 31st & November 1st.

History Changing Superbird!

Take a look at this 1970 Ray Nichels built EPA Superbird. This one car changed automotive history and affected every car you now drive…

NASCAR icon Ray Nichels took a stock ’70 Superbird and transformed it into a muscle car that was capable of chasing a jet down a runway. The car was fitted with air sampling sensors and equipment to measure leaded fuel emissions, asbestos brake dust and tire wear as well as jet fuel emissions.  It tested in the U.S. from May of 1972 until October of 1973. The data it collected helped bring and end to leaded fuel, asbestos brakes and the muscle car era. Then the car was parked. Six years later it was bought and restored back to factory appearance. In 2006 Brian Chaffee from E-Muscle helped his client buy the car and in a three year restoration brought it back to the original color and specs that Ray Nichels built for the Environmental Protection Agency, air sampling equipment and all! It’s a remarkable story of research, history and a beautiful restoration. Check out this one of a kind winged wonder on The PowerBlock October 24th & 25th.
